Ghanaian defender Kasim Adams says he is looking forward to a new challenge after completing a two-year move to KuPS.
The 30-year-old joined the Finnish club as a free agent and brings considerable experience from several European leagues.
Adams has previously played in Switzerland, Germany and Spain, featuring for clubs including Young Boys, TSG Hoffenheim, Fortuna Düsseldorf, FC Basel and Servette FC.
The defender has also represented Ghana and has experience in European competitions such as the Europa League and UEFA Conference League.
Speaking after joining the club, Adams said he received a warm welcome from his new teammates and staff.
“The reception was really good. The team welcomed me nicely, and the coaching staff made sure that everything was in order right from the start,” he said.
“The first few practices were really good for me, and I enjoyed them a lot. The development looks good, and I’m looking forward to working with the team.”
Adams added that he was already familiar with the club due to their participation in European competitions.
“Of course, I had heard about Finland, and I also knew about Kuopio Palloseura. The club regularly participates in the European competitions, so I was naturally aware of it,” he said.
The experienced defender is now focused on helping the team succeed while also supporting younger players in the squad.
“When you play at a high level for a long time, you gain experience and insight. If I can help younger players develop, that’s great. Our main goal is to win games together,” Adams said.
