The Orlando Magic are off to the NBA Cup semifinals after their win over the Miami Heat.
There were some concerns over the Orlando Magic to start the season as they struggled out of the gate.
But now the Magic are starting to build momentum. They are 7-3 in their last 10 games and are 4th in the Eastern Conference.
The Magic are just 2.5 games back of the No. 2 seed New York Knicks, who they’ll play in the NBA Cup semifinals.
DeMarcus Cousins is a big believer in the Orlando Magic
The Magic’s turnaround has DeMarcus Cousins believing in this team.
He claimed that the Magic have found their emotional leader in Desmond Bane and that the Magic are really dangerous in the East.

Bane has turned it around with Orlando. He has had a couple of 37-point performances over the last few weeks, including in the Magic’s most recent NBA Cup win over the Heat.
If the Magic are going to make a deep run in the East this season, they need Bane to be at his best.
“Once they’re fully healthy, this is gonna be a really dangerous team in the East… they found their emotional leader in Desmond Bane.
“That’s exactly what they need.”

The Magic acquired Bane from the Memphis Grizzlies over the summer in a deal that sent Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, Cole Anthony and four first-round draft picks to the Grizzlies.

By paying a steep price for Bane, the Magic believed he was the missing piece on their team and someone who can get them over the top in the East.
Bane did not start the season well, which led to many people questioning the Magic’s big trade for him.
However, Bane has turned it around and now he is averaging 19.0 points for the season.
The Magic need the Bane they got against Miami more often and if that happens, they will be a major threat come playoff time.
