The Nike Basketball PE wire is heating up ahead of March Madness, and as the current PE king of the NBA, it should come as no surprise that Devin Booker’s signature line is playing a leading role. The Swoosh has already delivered Nike Book 2 PEs for key programs like the Michigan State Spartans, Texas Longhorns, and of course Booker’s alma mater in the Kentucky Wildcats, whose pair will actually see a limited release. Next up is a USC Trojans PE unveiled straight from the source, worn by Booker last night ahead of a matchup against the Kings.
Once again iterating on the Book 2 “Spiridon” formula, the sneaker features a yellow mesh upper with rich maroon hits on the mudguard, lining, and outsole. Chrome Swooshes featuring maroon piping dot the quarter, while the underlay ribbons appear in alternating yellow/maroon to match. The lateral side features USC branding, opting for a retro logo used throughout much of the ’80s and early ’90s rather than the school’s current collegiate-style mark.
The Nike Book 2 “USC” PE is reserved for Trojans players only (and Booker himself, apparently) and won’t see a public release. You might catch them on-court, but after five straight losses, USC’s chances of making this year’s March Madness bracket appear slim.
