Dodgers Announce Lineup for Opening Day vs. Diamondbacks

The Los Angeles Dodgers released their starting lineup for their Opening Day game against the Arizona Diamondbacks.

Designated hitter Shohei Ohtani will lead off for the Dodgers, and right fielder Kyle Tucker—the Dodgers’ newest All-Star—will bat second in the matchup. Shortstop Mookie Betts will take over the third spot, manager Dave Roberts said he would have during the regular season, and first baseman Freddie Freeman will bat cleanup.

Catcher Will Smith, Third baseman Max Muncy, and left fielder Teoscar Hernandez will follow Freeman, and center fielder Andy Pages sits in the No. 8 spot. Second baseman Miguel Rojas rounds out the lineup batting ninth.

Yoshinobu Yamamoto will be the Dodgers’ starter, making his second consecutive Opening Day start for LA.

Los Angeles Dodgers Freddie Freeman (5) reacts after hitting his second home run of the game against the Arizona Diamondbacks in the fourth inning during the season home finale at Chase Field in Phoenix on Sept. 25, 2025.

Dodgers Lineup Against Diamondbacks

1. Shohei Ohtani, DH
2. Kyle Tucker, RF
3. Mookie Betts, SS
4. Freddie Freeman, 1B
5. Will Smith, C
6. Max Muncy, 3B
7. Teoscar Hernandez, LF
8. Andy Pages, CF
9. Miguel Rojas, 2B
P. Yoshinobu Yamamoto, RHP

Rojas earned the Opening Day spot at second for the Dodgers despite a poor matchup against a right-handed pitcher, and will look to pick up right where he left off for the Dodgers while he stands in for the injured Tommy Edman.

The Dodgers will face Zac Gallen, who re-signed with the D-Backs during the offseason. The Dodgers faced the right-hander on the mound twice last season, but had a mixed bag of results. They scored four runs on 10 hits through 5.2 innings in a win the first time they faced him, then failed to score a run through six innings in a loss the second time around.

LA wildly outperformed their opponents in 2025, finishing 13 games ahead of the Diamondbacks and eventually winning the World Series.

Prior to the game, the Dodgers will raise the banner for their 2025 World Series championship and hope to get off to a good start in their 2026 title defense against Arizona.
