Eddie Hearn makes brutal Anthony Joshua vs Deontay Wilder prediction

Eddie Hearn believes Anthony Joshua would secure an early knockout of Deontay Wilder.

Wilder called out long-time rival Joshua to his face after overcoming Derek Chisora by split decision at the O2 Arena on Saturday.

Joshua, who knocked out Jake Paul in December, has returned to training in Spain alongside former rival Oleksandr Usyk.

The 36-year-old suffered minor injuries in a fatal car accident in Nigeria 10 days after stopping Paul, which killed two of his close friends.

The Brit’s promoter, Eddie Hearn has targeted a July return for ‘AJ’ and says he’s willing to make a long-awaited Joshua-Wilder showdown, believing his charge would win inside three rounds.

“We need a warm-up fight before we fight Tyson Fury,” Hearn told reporters on Thursday.

“Because AJ is coming off the accident, he’s rehabilitating his body.

“We’ll take Deontay Wilder as that warm-up fight and then we’ll fight Tyson Fury in December.

“I respect Wilder and I think he looked much better in that fight than he has done previously.

“But let me tell you, Anthony Joshua will walk through Deontay Wilder within three rounds.”

The pair have been on a collision course since both held world heavyweight titles back in 2018.

‘AJ’ is likely to be ringside at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Saturday for Fury’s return against Arslanbek Makhmudov.

‘The Gypsy King’ fights for the first time since announcing his comeback earlier this year after retiring last year following a second straight defeat to Oleksandr Usyk.

Like Wilder, a meeting with Fury has also eluded the two-time heavyweight world champion, although Fury admits he’s ready to deliver the long-desired British battle should he overcome Makhmudov.

“I’d like to fight him [Joshua] next for sure,” Fury told The Stomping Ground.

“If he’s available next, then we’ll do it next, providing I get through Arslanbek.”
