UFC boss Dana White has given his thoughts on Eddie Hearn after some recent shots were thrown in his direction by the Matchroom Boxing promoter.
As we know, Eddie Hearn is an incredibly successful boxing promoter. He’s so successful, in fact, that he’s gotten to the point where he can say pretty much anything about those within the sport, and he rarely gets too much backlash.
Recently, Eddie Hearn has had a few things to say about Dana White, the UFC and the rise of Zuffa Boxing. It doesn’t seem to mean much beyond some friendly banter, but Dana has always been the kind of guy who will challenge those who are challenging him.
In a recent interview, Dana White had the following to say about Eddie Hearn.
Dana White responds to Eddie Hearn
“I think that the guy from the WBC is the greatest PR thing to ever happen for Zuffa Boxing. I mean, that guy should just keep doing interviews every day. Keep talking. It’s incredible. Love it.”
“Um, you know, Eddie Hearn works for his dad. You know what I mean? He works for dad and you know I don’t think he’s come in and never had any type of vision. Whereas we do and we’re going to… we’re going to change the entire sport.”
“I’m not going to sit here and smash Eddie Hearn or anything else but Eddie Hearn works for his dad. You know, it’s not like he’s come in and ever had any type of vision. Whereas we do and we’re going to change the entire sport and I understand the people who are the status quo in boxing don’t like it but it doesn’t mean they can’t still do their thing.”
“I’m not concerned about it at all. The last thing, the sport has been out there for over a hundred years and there’s plenty of guys that are involved in the sport. There’s plenty of money in the sport. Eddie Hearn and his dad have a lot of money. You know, it’s not like they can’t compete. They can’t compete because they don’t know how to compete. There’s no vision there.”
“I’m sitting here, my third fight in. I’m either right or I’m wrong. We’ll find out. I keep saying it over and over again. At the end of the year, judge us by what we’ve done this year.”
