English Player Caught Cheating! Used ‘Oversized Bat’, 12-Point Penalty

In a horrific turn of events during the 2024 English County Championship Division One, Essex County Cricket Club has been given a penalty of 12 points for an ‘oversized bat’. The player for the reason of this is opening batter Feroze Khushi.

This happened in April during a match between Essex and Nottinghamshire where Essex won the game by 254 runs.

During the second innings of the match, Feroze’s bat failed a bat gauge test after he made scores of 18 and 32.

The bat came out to be wider than 10.8cm, which is allowed by MCC regulation 5.7.2. The Cricket Discipline Commission (CDC) reduced 12 points from Essex for this.

This tragedy has done nothing but ended their hoped of winning the title as there are now only two matches remaining and they are 56 points behind the league leader Surrey.
