Eryk Anders earned a hard-fought victory over Brad Tavares at UFC Vegas 114 on Saturday.
While the opening round started slowly with Anders spamming takedown attempts, things picked up in the final minute of the stanza when Anders unleashed a flurry that had Tavares on the ropes.
Unable to secure the first-round finish, we head into the second, where Tavares would swing things into his favor with a perfectly timed counter right that sent Anders crashing to the canvas. However, it was Anders who would end up on top, raining down ground strikes as Tavares went fishing for a triangle choke.
Anders bounced back in the second, but the knockdown he suffered likely sent us to the third and final round with the fight deadlocked at 1-1.

The final five minutes didn’t offer much in the way of fireworks as Anders controlled much of the period, securing his 18th career win and climbing back into the win column.
Official Result: Eryk Anders def. Brad Tavares via unanimous decision (30-27, 29-28, 29-28).

Following the victory, Anders announced that he was officially hanging up his gloves. He retires with a record of 17-9, with 10 of those victories coming inside the Octagon.
