Following the Azure team’s final league game of the season, the Emerald Warriors held an International Women’s Day celebration where members, supporters and visitors came together to celebrate the women who inspire them.
As part of this celebration, we were proud to host a hygiene drive in support of Hygiene Hub, a local charity working to tackle hygiene poverty within our community.
Thanks to the generosity of everyone involved, the hygiene drive resulted in 42kg of donated essential items. To put that impact into context, Hygiene Hub estimates that 3kg of hygiene products can support a family for one month, meaning this initiative will help approximately 13 local families access essential items with dignity.
In addition to the hygiene collection, the bake sale and donations raised €600, which will be donated to Aoibhneas, a charity supporting homeless women during pregnancy, childbirth and early motherhood. Supporting smaller, community‑focused organisations allows contributions like these to have a direct and meaningful impact.
Hygiene Hub plays a vital role in ensuring access to basic hygiene items that are often overlooked but are essential to health, confidence and wellbeing. We were delighted to support their work and to see how collective, community‑led action can make a real difference locally.

Thank you to Sorcha Killeen and the Hygiene Hub for the work they do every day and for sharing feedback on the impact of this initiative. Thank you also to our members, volunteers and supporters who donated, baked and helped make the day such a success.
Plus a special thank you to Pavilion member Ciara O’Sullivan who does so much to support the Azure team and helped lead our International Women’s Day event.
