Former Australia cricketer Simon Katich showed no mercy while criticizing Mohammed Siraj for his poor bowling display against Travis Head, who went on to score his second consecutive century of the series.

On the first ball of the 60th over, Siraj banged it short and Head smashed it for a boundary. Katich, who was doing commentary at that time, slammed the Indian pacer for his poor tactic.

“This is unbelievable from Mohammed Siraj. Because the over before he had a man right in that spot, and he’s run in and bowled what they were planning without the fielder there. That is dumb. Dumb cricket,” Katich said.

“They’ve got two men out on the leg side, they’ve got a deep point, they had a man right in that spot for this very planned Travis Head, and then he doesn’t have the fielder. And now he’s going to put the fielder back down there right now,” Katich added.

Katich had also previously blasted Siraj for the fiery send-off which he gave to Head during the second Test of the Border-Gavaskar series at the Adelaide Oval.

“It’s a shame that Siraj had a bit of a brain fade… there’s no need for that in the game. He would regret that Siraj,” Katich told SEN 1170 Breakfast.
