Ex-PAK pacer calls Babar a ‘King’ after resigning Test captaincy

Former Pakistan pacer Tanvir Ahmed praised the decision of Babar Azam to resign Test captaincy a month before the team tours to Australia for 3 ODIs and as many T20Is. Tanvir was already expecting Babar to leave his role and also wants Babar to improve his rankings across all formats.

Babar Azam, aapne bohot zabardast faisla kiya hai kaptaani chor kar. Mein yahi samajhta tha ki aapka yahi faisla aana chahiye. Hum ye chahte hai ki aap as a batsman Pakistan ke liye khele aur bohot runs karein. Aapko performance deni hai zabardast. Aapki ranking jo niche aayi hui hai usko behtar kare (Babar Azam, you have taken a very good decision by leaving the captaincy. I expected you to be making this decision. We want that you as a batsman play for Pakistan and score a lot of runs. You have to perform very well and improve the low ranking that has taken a hit.),” Tanvir said in a video he posted on X.

Han koshish aapne ye karni hai, ki Pakistan team mein aap khelte rahein aur retirement tak aapne Pakistan team ke liye khelna hai. Kisi bhi format mei bahar nahi hona.(One thing you have to try, is that always play for Pakistan team, and you have to play for Pakistan team till retirement. You should not leave the team for any format),” he further added.

In the end of the video, Tanvir said how he supports Babar and how he is still a king for him.

Bohot acha lahahai jo aapne ye faisla liya hai. Aapko pata hai mai waise hi aapko supprt karta hun, aur aap mere liye king hein. (It felt very good that you took this decision. You already know that I have been supporting you, and you are a king for me),” he concluded.
