Faf du Plessis Lauds 20-Year-Old Vipraj Nigam
Stand-in captain Faf du Plessis was all praise for 20-year-old all-rounder Vipraj Nigam. The Capitals had picked the uncapped Indian player for ₹50 lakh at the option table. The youngster impressed everyone with both bat and ball throughout the tournament.
“Vipraj Nigam was the find of the season for us. It is rare for a leg-spinner to be an all-rounder,” said Faf after the match.

Vipraj played all 14 league games for DC. He picked up 11 wickets at an average of 32.36 and an economy of 9.04. With the bat, he scored 142 runs at a strong strike rate of 179.74.
Delhi Capitals Missed Playoffs Despite 15 Points
Delhi Capitals finished the season with 15 points in 14 games but narrowly missed out on a playoffs spot. Speaking about what went wrong, Faf said:
“It is one of the great mysteries. It was the combination of confidence, lack of form, and the basics of the game. We let things slip in those key 5-6 overs during batting and bowling.”
Despite falling short, Delhi Capitals had a few positives this season, with Vipraj Nigam’s performance being one of the biggest takeaways for the franchise.
