Springbok scrumhalf Faf de Klerk is reportedly set to join the Cheetahs when his Yokohama Canon Eagles contract ends in June.
A back-to-back World Cup winner in 2019 and 2023, De Klerk has spent the past four years in Japan after leaving the Sale Sharks.
According to RugbyPass, De Klerk is close to finalising a two-year deal with the Bloemfontein-based outfit.
Family considerations have reportedly played a significant role in the decision, with the 34-year-old keen to be closer to his wife Miné’s family in the Northern Cape. The couple have strong ties to Postmasburg and the Free State region.
