A fake social media account posing as Bob Holly caused confusion and backlash this week after posting an aggressive Attitude Era-style hazing rant aimed at Sami Zayn — and plenty of people initially bought it.
The post began circulating shortly after Zayn was reported to have pushed hard backstage for an Undisputed WWE Championship opportunity against Drew McIntyre at Royal Rumble 2026 in Saudi Arabia. McIntyre ultimately retained the title with two Claymore Kicks, improving to a 12–0 record against Zayn, but the fallout didn’t stop in the ring.
The impersonator account leaned into old-school locker room mythology, claiming Zayn would have been subjected to forced labor and humiliation if he had wrestled in an earlier era.
“If Sami Zayn was in WWE during my time, he’d be helping tear the ring down at the end of each show and/or driving the boys to the next town and unpacking their luggage until I felt that he paid his dues. I would personally enforce this and I know Vince McMahon would approve.”
At first glance, the tweet looked authentic enough that several users reacted as if it came from the real Bob Holly — including O’Shea Jackson Jr., who publicly questioned the timing of the post.
“Did Sami do something that I’m missing?”
As the tweet gained traction, fans quickly began digging into the account’s history and noticed a pattern of impersonations and troll behavior. The same account had previously posed as Sid Vicious and taken shots at multiple wrestlers, making it clear the Bob Holly post was part of a long-running fake persona.
