Fakhar Zaman lashes out at PCB for dropping Babar Azam, his tweet goes viral

Pakistan batter Fakhar Zaman has come out in support of Babar Azam after the former captain was dropped for the upcoming second and third Tests against England due to his poor form in the format.

Along with Babar, experienced pacers Naseem Shah and Shaheen Afridi were also dropped from the squad for their poor performance in the first Test against England.

With a tweet on social media platform ‘X’, Fakhar pointed out how India didn’t drop Virat Kohli even during his severely poor form and warned the PCB that their decision to sideline arguably their best batter could send a negative message.

The tweet went viral on the platform and even though it was met by some support from the Pakistan fans, the others criticized Fakhar for comparing Babar’s situation to Kohli, pointing out that the latter’s slump in form didn’t go on for such an extended period.

The decision to make big changes to the squad comes after Pakistan’s defeat by an innings and 47 runs in the first Test. After the result, PCB even revamped the selection panel and brought in umpire Aleem Dar and former Pakistan cricketers Aaqib Javed, Azhar Ali and Asad Shafiq.
