Fans clash outside Chinnaswamy Stadium after RCB vs CSK thriller

Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) defeated Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in a last-over thriller by two runs at the M Chinnaswamuy Stadium in Bengaluru on May 3. The Super Kings needed 15 runs in the final over with a well set Ravindra Jadeja, MS Dhoni and later Shivam Dube at the crease. However, RCB pacer Yash Dayal successfully defended just like he did last year against the same opposition at the same venue as CSK fans had to go through agony.

Meanwhile, in a viral video on social media, some CSK and RCB fans were seen engaged in a scuffle. A fan in CSK jersey was spotted near a car, where some RCB fans surrounded and pushed him before the local police intervened and asked them to vacate the place.

Speaking about the game, CSK’s decided to field first before Virat Kohli (62 off 33) and Jacob Bethell  (55 off 33) scored outstanding half-centuries and Romario Shepherd gave the finishing touch, scoring 53 off just 14, to take RCB to 213 for 5.

While the target seemed well above par at the halfway mark, CSK lost the match by only two runs in the end as youngster Ayush Mhatre and Ravindra Jadeja formed a solid partnership, helping the visitors get almost across the line.

Mhatre missed out on a well-deserved century by just six runs as he was dismissed for 94 off 48 while Jadeja scored an unbeaten 77 off 45. However, CSK could not chase 15 runs in the last over thanks to Dayal.

Meanwhile, with this loss, the Bengaluru-based franchise have almost secured their qualification for the playoffs.
