Fans Target Ari Emanuel for Pat McAfee’s Role in Randy Orton vs. Cody Rhodes Storyline

Ari Emanuel is getting targeted by fans in a big way — and it’s all because of Pat McAfee’s involvement in the Randy Orton vs. Cody Rhodes storyline.

Following reports that Pat McAfee’s involvement in the Randy Orton vs. Cody Rhodes feud may have come from the corporate side rather than WWE creative, fans have zeroed in on Emanuel as the face of that influence. With WrestleMania 42 around the corner, what was already a controversial angle has now turned into a broader criticism of TKO leadership and how much control they may have over WWE’s biggest stories.

One fan took to Twitter and accused Emanuel of draining WWE for profit instead of protecting the product: “You are a cancer to WWE, stop sucking the life out of it for your financial gain.” Another went straight at the decision-making behind WrestleMania 42, questioning whether it’s being sabotaged from the top: “You on a personal self sabotage mission to ruin wrestlemania with your terrible creative decisions?”

The criticism didn’t slow down, with another fan escalating things even further in frustration: “You are a cancer to wwe u mf. I wish we had a way to sslap a person from the internet itself.” And one more comment crossed the line completely, blaming Emanuel outright for ruining WWE’s biggest show of the year.

“you ruined the biggest show of the year. you hate wrestling and everyone who enjoys it. go f*** yourself and i mean that.”

The backlash comes after a report from PWInsider Elite suggested McAfee’s role in the Randy Orton vs. Cody Rhodes storyline may not have come from WWE creative at all. Instead, there’s a growing belief internally that the move was pushed from the corporate side — with speculation pointing toward TKO leadership, and possibly even Emanuel himself, although that hasn’t been confirmed.

McAfee was revealed as Orton’s mystery ally on SmackDown, instantly shifting the direction of one of WWE’s top WrestleMania feuds. Reports indicate the decision could be tied to WWE’s broader media strategy, including its ESPN deal and plans to bring WrestleMania content to a wider audience on linear television.

But for many fans, that explanation isn’t enough — and the anger is now aimed directly at who they believe made the call. With WrestleMania 42 around the corner, the situation has quickly turned from storyline debate into a bigger conversation about corporate influence and control behind the scenes.

Do you think the backlash toward Ari Emanuel is justified — or are fans going too far over the Pat McAfee storyline? Drop your thoughts below and let us know.
