The addition shows the organization’s trust in the thriving esports industry adding to its League of Legends and Men’s VALORANT squads. With FC Barcelona, an avid supporter of female sports with a football squad to its name as well, having a female VALORANT team definitely came as an easy decision.
The new squad will debut in the EMEA Qualifiers of VALORANT Game Changers where they will vie for a coveted slot at the prestigious all women’s tournament. Leading the squad will be IGL Maria ‘Toki’ Perez who is the first Spanish player who qualified for VALORANT Game Changers Championship after beginning her pro career in 2021. Joining Toki is her former teammate from Case Hydra in Alba ‘Annie’ Garcia.
Adding more experience to the crew is Paula ‘Devilasa’ Blanco who competed in Spain’s first VALORANT Challengers. She joins the Barça family from from SK Nebula. Rounding up the roster for Barça Esports are two Turkish stars in Eylül “miyori” Sarıoğlu and İlayda “Lyda” Güzeldere. Duelist player miyori is the youngest on this roster but brings flair and explosiveness to the squad. While Lyda competed in every VALORANT Game Changers competition since its maiden voyage in 2021.
The squad will be coached by former VALORANT Challengers Spain finalist, Fabian ‘Quick’ Pereira.
