In most athletic pursuits, there is a hard wedge between all things collegiate and all things scholastic.

Of course, much of this is because of regulations put forth by the NCAA over the last century.

However, we’ve seen more than one instance where you’re seeing regular-season NCAA women’s lacrosse games being held at American high schools.

Last year, Towson Notre Dame Prep (Md.) hosted a collegiate lacrosse game between the University of Virginia and Maryland, which was a special game for the One Love Foundation. This was a fundraiser, but, at its heart, it was a regular-season game which featured two Top 20 teams looking to make a late move in the eyes of the selectors.

This weekend, another Division I college game is being held at a high-school campus. The host site is The Eagles’ Nest at at Milton (Ga.), one of the best scholastic girls’ lacrosse programs in the nation. Milton has won 18 Georgia High School Association titles in the last 20 seasons and has sent numerous players to the next level.

The game is also a fundraiser for St. Jude Children’s Hospital. It should be an amazing event, and not just off the field. That’s because the two college teams playing are ACC rivals Florida and Clemson, and it is one of those “fulcrum” games on which the fortunes of both teams could turn for the rest of the season.

If you’re within a few hundred miles of Milton, go see this game.
