FIR lodged against Virat Kohli’s One8 Commune in Bengaluru

Virat Kohli is in news again, but this time it’s not for a good cause. The Indian cricketer has recently made the nation proud, bringing the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 trophy home with his terrific performance in the final match. Kohli also announced his retirement from T20I cricket, making his fans emotional. However, this time it’s not a cricket-related news that has brought Kohli back into the spotlight. Karnataka Police has confirmed that an FIR has been lodged against Virat Kohli’s One8 Commune in Bengaluru.

Virat co owns the One8 Commune restaurant chain with his childhood best friend Vartik Tihara. Tihara used to run his own hospitality company, before joining hands with Virat for One8. The restaurant has branches in major cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Pune, and Kolkata. The Bengaluru branch, which opened in December last year, is situated on the sixth floor of Ratnam’s Complex on Kasturba Road, near the M Chinnaswamy Stadium.

A case has been filed against the manager of One8 Commune-Bengaluru, co-owned by Indian cricket star Virat Kohli, for serving customers past the 1 am closing time.The first information report (FIR) states that One8 Commune-Bengaluru was allegedly still operating at 1:20 am, exceeding the permissible time limit.

“The One8 Commune pub at Kasturbha Road was found operating and serving customers at 1:20 am, beyond closing time on July 6th,” the FIR registered at the Cubbon Park Police Station in Bengaluru reads.

“We have booked around 3-4 pubs for running late till 1:30 am last night. We received complaints of loud music being played. Pubs were allowed to remain open only till 1 am and not beyond that.” Said the DCP Central.
