Fishing vessels allowed safe harbour at Port St Charles amid tropical depression

As Barbados braces for the impact of a tropical depression on Sunday, June 30, fishing vessel owners are advised that Port St. Charles will be open for safe harbour starting at 11:00 a.m.

Dr. Shelly-Ann Cox, the Chief Fisheries Officer, emphasizes the importance of safety precautions, reminding boat owners to ensure their vessels are equipped with adequate rope and fenders.

Additionally, vessel owners are requested to present their insurance documents upon arrival at the port, if available.

This measure aims to secure the safety of both vessels and crew as the island prepares for the impending weather conditions.
