Barcelona boss Hansi Flick believes that the mentality of matchwinner Raphinha helped the Blaugrana to victory in the Supercopa de Espana final against Real Madrid.
In a crazy game at Alinma Bank Stadium at King Abdullah Sport City, Raphinha netted the winning goal in the 73rd minute for Barcelona, who also saw Frenkie de Jong sent off.
Raphinha had also opened the scoring nine minutes before half-time, only for his strike to spark a flurry of goals to end a dramatic 45 minutes between the two Clasico rivals.
Madrid levelled through Vinicius Junior’s stunning run and finish before Robert Lewandowski and Gonzalo Garcia got in on the action as the game went into the break at 2-2.
However, Barcelona’s Brazilian number 11 popped up with the winner, helping the Blaugrana beat Madrid in a third consecutive final for the first time in their club history.
Raphinha also became only the second player to ever score four goals in a single edition of the Supercopa de Espana, after Aritz Aduriz in 2015, against Barcelona.
“His mentality is impressive and we also have others, he influences the whole team,” Flick told Movistar.
“He missed the first opportunity but took advantage of the second and gave us confidence. We had a lot of pressure as you have seen.”

Raphinha also finished with team-high totals for shots (five), shots in the box (four), with his performance key to helping Barcelona to a record-extending 16th Supercopa crown.
There was another impressive performance up front from Lewandowski, whose dinked finish saw him score for the third game in a row in the competition.
He now has 10 goals in 20 appearances in all competitions this season, but the Poland international remains focused on helping Barcelona win as many trophies as possible.
“We’re very happy, one more title, whenever we play against Madrid it’s a big game,” Lewandowski added.
“We played well in the first half, the second too, we looked for more goals but we won and that’s the most important thing.
“Madrid played very low blocks and we are trying to find the goal area, we sometimes need a little more patience, if we cross we also have a chance to score.
“The most important thing is that we have won and we have another title.”
Barcelona, who are top of LaLiga by four points, return to action next Thursday, with a clash against LaLiga 2 leaders Racing Santander in the last 16 of the Copa del Rey.
