The UFC will return to Mexico City on Feb. 28 with a fight card headlined by a flyweight firefight between contenders.
Former two-time UFC flyweight champion Brandon Moreno takes on No. 7 ranked Asu Almabayev in a matchup that promises excitement. The fight promotion announced the UFC Mexico City headliner on Wednesday.
Moreno (23-9-2) will enter the bout at Arena CDMX coming off a TKO loss to Tatsuro Taira at UFC 323 in December. It was the first time Moreno had been stopped in his 14-year mixed martial arts career. The loss snapped a two-fight winning streak for the first Mexican champion in UFC history.
Almabayev (23-3) entered 2025 riding an incredible 17-fight winning streak. He suffered a TKO loss to Manel Kape in March but rebounded with back-to-back wins.

- The Ultimate Fighter and Dana White’s Contender Series alum Imanol Rodriguez (6-0, fighting out of Baja California, Mexico) aims to keep his undefeated record intact against Kevin Borjas (10-4, fighting out of Lima, Peru) at flyweight
- Undefeated Santiago Luna (7-0, fighting out of Tijuana, Mexico) goes for another highlight-reel finish when he meets Angel Pacheco (7-3, fighting out of St. Cloud, Minn.)
- Bantamweights Cristian Quinonez (18-5, fighting out of Tijuana, Mexico) and Kris Moutinho (14-7, fighting out of Milford, Mass.) face off
- Sofia Montenegro (6-2, fighting out of Cordoba, Argentina) plans to impress in her UFC debut as she faces Ernesta Kareckaite (6-1-1, fighting out of Kaunas, Lithuania) in a flyweight contest
