Former Los Angeles Dodgers utility man Chris Taylor organized the third annual CT3 Polar Plunge in Manhattan Beach on Sunday.
The CT3 Polar Plunge is an event dedicated to raising money for Taylor’s CT3 Foundation — a foundation for helping children and their families families in challenging circumstances — as well as the Friendship Foundation and the Pediatric Cancer Research Foundation.
Several former Dodgers teammates joined Taylor for the event.
“It means the world to me that they still show up this event,” Taylor said in an interview. “It wouldn’t be what it is if they didn’t support it. I think a lot of people are here because they’re excited about the Dodgers and baseball and sports, and it really means a lot that they come.”
Taylor and his wife, Mary, have held the event at the Manhattan Beach Pier every February since 2024.
When Did Chris Taylor Play for the Dodgers?
The Dodgers acquired Taylor from the Mariners in 2015 via trade and he remained with the Dodgers until midway through the 2025 season, when the Dodgers released him.
He made an All-Star Game with the Dodgers in 2021, and won two World Series championships with the team. In 10 seasons with the Dodgers, Taylor hit 108 home runs and tallied 423 RBIs with a .761 OPS.
After the Dodgers released him, the Angels picked him up for the remainder of the season. He played in just 30 games for the Angels, and spent a majority of his time in Anaheim on the injured list.
Is Chris Taylor on a Team in 2026?
As of time of writing, Taylor hasn’t signed with an MLB team. The veteran has declared his intent to play in the 2026 season, though, and is looking to get himself in shape for the upcoming campaign.
“Oh no, I’m still playing,” Taylor said. “Don’t pull the cord on me yet, Vassegh. No, I’m still playing. I’m down here in Arizona working out. Um, you know, I… I don’t know where it’s going to be yet, obviously with free agency being the way it is, but, um, I will be playing again this coming season.”
“I really just—right now I’m just focused on getting myself right. Being ready to show up in spring training and be playing like my best, the way I know I’m capable of playing. Um, trying to get the body right, make sure I’m healthy and able to stay on the field.”
