“Look at his performance over the years it’s quite impressive. He did well when he scored a century at Centurion during his stay in South Africa. During that one off Test he had against England held in Hyderabad, Rahul managed to pile up some runs too. This player has always been scoring runs regularly and was exceptionally good during the last World Cup,” Patel reportedly said during an event organized by JioCinema which was attended by IANS reporters.

The former cricketer from India made an important statement that KL has been one of those who has shown his skill with the bat even during tough times when for instance Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma have had problems. The innings of 100 runs scored against South Africa at Centurion stays unforgettable in history though it was not enough to win.

“But saying that, Sarfaraz started his career too well. For my part, KL Rahul should definitely be included into the Indian team first. There’s no question about it. We can see that India is having this kind of competition among players for every position,” Parthiv said.

Now most probably Team India would go for a complete side and not make any experiments since the majority of senior players have returned to the squad. Hence, this would mean that Sarfaraz might find himself sitting on the bench in preference to playing with Rahul while they could also give Rishabh Pant Jurel’s position behind the stumps.

Since the Test in Chennai will commence, both fans and specialists would eagerly await Rohit Sharma’s strategy for the match because this is the first-ever red-ball game of Gautam Gambhir as Head Coach of
