Formula 1 has announced that Super Group’s Betway will become the sport’s first Official Betting Operator from the start of the 2026 FIA Formula One World Championship, marking a significant step in the sport’s evolving digital engagement strategy.
The multi-year agreement spans key markets across Europe, the Middle East and Africa, as well as Canada and Mexico, representing the first formal betting partnership of its kind within Formula 1.
The collaboration builds on the expertise of ALT Sports Data, Formula 1’s Official Betting Data Supplier, which provides real-time predictive analytics generated from the sport’s vast performance data. Through the partnership, Betway will gain access to official data feeds and proprietary analytics to develop dynamic betting markets and priced odds solutions during race weekends.
As a championship defined by strategy, engineering precision, and millions of real-time data points, the partnership introduces a new way for eligible audiences aged 18 and over to interact with the sport’s analytical depth.
Fans will be able to place in-play bets on race dynamics and strategy, including:
- Safety car deployments
- Pit-stop windows
- On-track overtakes and battles
- Team strategy decisions
These real-time markets are designed to bring fans closer to the tactical dimension that defines modern Formula 1 competition.
The timing of the partnership coincides with the launch of the 2026 Formula 1 season, widely regarded as one of the most significant technical resets in the sport’s history. New power unit regulations and aerodynamic rules are expected to reshape competitive dynamics and intensify on-track action, creating an ideal environment for new fan engagement tools.
Jonny Haworth, Director of Commercial Partnerships at Formula 1, said:
“Sports betting is now a natural extension of how many modern fans engage with live events. As a series with vast and complex data sets, our innovative partnership with Betway allows our adult fans to take a step closer to the strategy and action that makes Formula 1 so thrilling.”
He added that regulated betting products powered by official data provide new opportunities for engagement while maintaining accuracy and integrity.
Neal Menashe, CEO of Super Group, welcomed the agreement:
“We are thrilled to sign our Betway sportsbook brand to the first deal of its kind in Formula 1. This partnership reinforces our commitment to sport at the highest level and ensures our customers will have access to some of the most innovative betting markets during race weekends.”
As Formula 1 continues expanding its global audience and digital ecosystem, the Betway partnership signals a broader shift toward data-driven fan experiences, blending advanced analytics, live broadcasting, and interactive engagement around the world’s premier motorsport championship.
