The Craftsman Truck Series took the track for the Fresh from Florida 250 at Daytona International Speedway. At the Friday night event under the lights, the field was star-studded. Top names featured Tony Stewart, as well as the elite full-time truck series participants, including Chandler Smith, Layne Riggs, and Ty Majeski. Beyond them, the race also featured Travis Pastrana, Cleetus McFarland, and former TV star Frankie Muniz.
Imagine telling someone back in 2005 that Tony Stewart and Frankie Muniz would be competing in a NASCAR race? People would call you crazy. Nonetheless, it happened, and Muniz has some funny post-race comments.
Frankie Muniz Jokes About Tony Stewart
The media interviewed the multifaceted celebrity post-race. Muniz would say, correctly, but jokingly, “I beat Tony fair and square.” He would go on to create more laughs by saying, “It’s crazy to say that I am undefeated against Tony Stewart.”
The best part is that this is correct. Muniz is undefeated against Stewart in their one-race history. Stewart would wreck out of the race after 63 laps, finishing 36th/37. Muniz would actually put together a great race, finishing P16, one spot behind Travis Pastrana.
Other Racing Celebrities Make Light of Losses
Muniz was not the only fun story. Travis Pastrana and Cleetus McFarland had struck up a nice friendship. In an interview of his own, Pastrana stated that he was ready to “Shake and bake” with McFarland. He did not know that McFarland dropped out of the race right then.

McFarland would go on to comment on his own wreck. He noted that Carson Hocevar lightheartedly coached him up, stating that if you cause the wreck, you will likely not be in the wreck. Well, McFarland caused the wreck, and he was the only car in the wreck. “That’s something that the Biff did not teach me there.” All good fun out of safely exited situations.
The celebrity presence in NASCAR is ultimately great for the sport. It reaches new audiences and makes fantastic, entertaining headlines. It is quite likely that we will see the likes of Pastrana and McFarland back again at some point. Meanwhile, Muniz will keep racing on in hopes of being a long-shot playoff contender.
