The highest paid individuals in India are undoubtedly cricketers and it is this aspect of their lives that intrigues the fans.

They make more money not only by playing for India but also by taking part in the Indian Premier League (IPL). The cricket players also endorse products to earn more income.

Fortune India has reported that Virat Kohli, a batting legend, tops the list of sportspersons who have paid most taxes during the fiscal year 2023-2024. To put it differently, he pays as much as Sachin Tendulkar and MS Dhoni combined.

In terms of taxation amount paid, he leads among other sports persons with an astounding 66 crore rupees being paid by him alone. Trailing behind him is none other than legendary captain MS Dhoni which stands at 38 crore rupees. In this regard, cricketing icon Sachin Tendulkar comes third with 28 crore rupees while his former teammate Sourav Ganguly is at 23 crore rupees.

Current Indian cricket team members include Hardik Pandya (12 crores) and Rishabh Pant (10 crores). They along with Kohli played a significant role in helping India lift their second T20 World Cup trophy after defeating South Africa in the final held in Barbados earlier in June 2024.

Sourav Ganguly – 23 Crores

Hardik Pandya – 12 Crores

Profession cricket remains one of the most sought-after jobs. Earlier this year, the BCCI announced Test cricket incentive scheme which would reward cricketers to earn even much more if they represented their country in its longest format.

The IPL and Team India continue to rise steadily; hence, these numbers are likely to increase with time.

Next, they will play Bangladesh in two-match test series at Chennai and Kanpur. Therefore, Rohit Sharma’s side will want to return to winning ways so as not to fall off from their top spot in WTC standings
