Axar removed both Ajinkya Rahane and Venkatesh Iyer, who were looking to take the score over 250, while Vipraj Nigam and Kuldeep Yadav kept things tight. Nigam was impressive at the death, and picked up the wickets of Narine and Rinku Singh, with the latter earlier capitalising on a missed DRS chance to add a quickfire 36 off 25.

Angkrish Raghuvanshi played a stabilising role in the middle, scoring 44 from 32 balls, before falling to a slower delivery from Dushmantha Chameera in the 17th over. However, it was Andre Russell at the death that put the home team in a state of bother. However, the West Indian all-rounder couldn’t score big against DC’s spinners in the final overs. The visiting team finally ended at a score of 204/9 in their allotted 20 overs.
