Gautam Gambhir, the current head coach of India has selected his all-time XI for the Indian cricket team which includes legendary players like Sachin Tendulkar, Rahul Dravid, and MS Dhoni; however interestingly there is no mention of Rohit Sharma or Jasprit Bumrah who are well-known personalities in cricketing circles. Rohit is considered among the best batsmen India has ever produced while Bumrah is a star across formats since he made his international debut in January 2016 against Australia.
In a YouTube video released by Sportskeeda, Gambhir opted to open with himself and Virender Sehwag as his opening players in an all-time Indian XI. He picked Dravid and Tendulkar at No. 3 and No 4 respectively before giving No 5 position to Kohli who made his first international appearance for India against Sri Lanka way back in July 2008 then Yuvraj Singh played at No 6 followed by MS Dhoni at 7
Gambhir, who replaced Dravid as head coach of India in July 2024, picked Anil Kumble and Ravichandran Ashwin as spin bowlers for his all-time XI, with Irfan Pathan and Zaheer Khan making up the two pacers.
This surprising move by Gambhir sent shock waves through fans around the world as he has always held very high regard for Rohit.
