“Get the F…. out of here”: Harbhajan Singh teaches Pakistan journalist a lesson for life

Former Indian cricketer Harbhajan Singh recently found himself in a social media spat with Pakistani journalist Farid Khan. The exchange began when Farid attempted to mock Harbhajan over his concerns about the safety of cricketers in Pakistan, leading to a heated response from the former off-spinner.

Harbhajan Singh slams Farid Khan

The controversy started when Farid posted screenshots from the first Test Match between Pakistan and India held at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore in January 2006. During that game, Harbhajan hit for four consecutive sixes by former Pakistan all-rounder Shahid Afridi. Farid insinuated that Harbhajan’s reluctance to see Indian players visit Pakistan stemmed from a fear of facing Pakistani batsmen. In a tweet, Farid wrote, “Hi, Harbhajan Singh. This is why you have security issues in Pakistan, right?”

Harbhajan did not take the comment lightly and promptly responded, clarifying his stance. “No, not for this. Cricket Mai Jeet har lagi rehti hai (Winning and losing is part of cricket). I will tell you the real problem is this. Check the photo,” Bhajji wrote, posting an image of the horrific terror attack on Sri Lankan players by an Islamic militant group at Lahore in 2009.

The veteran spinner further rebuked Farid saying, “Now get the F out of here. F ka Matlab samaj aa gya hoga ya samjau? (Did you understand the meaning of the letter F, or should I explain?). F means your name. Please don’t think what you are thinking the meaning of F. You know what I mean. Peace.”

The former cricketer’s response left no room for ambiguity, effectively silencing the Pakistani journalist.

The stance of the BCCI is absolutely correct: Harbhajan

This exchange comes on the heels of Harbhajan’s recent statements highlighting the security concerns in Pakistan. He voiced his opinion that Indian players should not visit Pakistan for the 2025 Champions Trophy, citing the country’s volatile security situation.

“Why should the Indian team go to Pakistan? The security issue there is significant. The situation in Pakistan is such that incidents occur almost every day. I don’t think it’s safe to go there. The stance of the BCCI is absolutely correct, and nothing is more important than the safety of our players,” he emphasized, underlining the paramount importance of player safety.
