Multiple Global Golf Post writers were recognized for their work in the 2026 Golf Writers Association of America Writing Contest.
Ron Green Jr. won third place in the Commentary category for his column “A Mickelson U.S. Open exit deserves its due” (June 12, 2025). Green also received honorable mention in the same category for his column “McIlroy’s perseverance reaps grand reward” (April 14, 2025).
John Steinbreder received honorable mention in the Long Profile category for “Resolute voice” (Aug. 11, 2025), which chronicled retired Titleist executive Peter Broome’s efforts to help others after being diagnosed with ALS. And a team of GGP writers – Green, Steinbreder, Scott Michaux, Lewine Mair, John Hopkins, Mike Cullity and Everett Munez – received honorable mention for “Tiger 5.0” (Dec. 8, 2025), a package examining Tiger Woods’ influence on the game to mark his 50th birthday.
In addition, GGP contributor Lisa Mickey received honorable mention in the Short Feature category for “Clinging to what remains” (Jan. 5, 2025), recounting former LPGA winner Mo Martin’s loss of her childhood home in the southern California wildfires.
