This century marked a significant milestone for the young batter. He leapfrogged Virat Kohli to claim the No. 2 spot among batters with the most centuries for India in the World Test Championship. With this achievement, he surpassed the tally of four centuries held by Kohli, Rishabh Pant, and Mayank Agarwal.

Rohit Sharma currently holds the record for the most hundreds in WTC history. The Indian captain has reached the 100-run mark nine times across 33 WTC matches. This impressive record highlights Sharma’s consistency and leadership in the format. As the young batter continues to excel, he aims to chase down this remarkable achievement set by his captain.

India had a remarkable time in the second innings. After losing three wickets early on, Shubman Gill and Rishabh Pant continued an impressive partnership. Both completed centuries. Pant was dismissed scoring 109 runs in 128 balls. Gill remained unbeaten scoring 119 runs as India declared their innings at 287/4 with a massive 514 runs lead.
