God of War Trilogy Remake’s announcement was one of the biggest surprises coming out of February 2026’s State of Play, when Sony’s Santa Monica Studio confirmed that it is revisiting and modernizing the first three entries in its iconic action-adventure series, placing the project’s release date at the top of many fans’ lists.
Before he became a stern but loving father, Kratos was no stranger to giving into his most violent impulses. The original trilogy follows him as he takes Ares’ place before hacking and slashing his way through the rest of the Greek pantheon.

God of War Trilogy Remake does not currently have a set release date. When it was unveiled in February 2026, the project was still “very early in development,” with original Kratos voice actor TC Carson noting that it will be a while before we learn more about what’s coming.

No details regarding God of War Trilogy Remake gameplay have been shared so far, so it’s difficult to say how exactly the remake plans on modernizing the first three mainline entries in the series.
Although we’d wager it will retain its trademark blend of brutal violence and puzzle solving, elements like its fixed camera haven’t aged quite as gracefully and may end up on the chopping block.
Kratos’ original voice actor, TC Carson, was the one to announce the project during February 2026’s State of Play showcase, so it certainly looks like he will return to the role for the remake
We’ll have to wait for official details from the developer and, although it might be a while before we hear anything, it will be interesting to see what shape the God of War Trilogy Remake takes when it releases.

God of War Trilogy Remake’s price remains unknown at the moment. As far as platforms go, it will very likely arrive on PS5. Expecting it on PC wouldn’t be too much of a stretch, although whether that happens when it initially releases or at a later point in time is anyone’s guess at the moment.
