Adam Schenck’s wayward approach at The American Express took an unexpected turn when it landed in a spectator’s drink, prompting a calm reaction from the fan.
Adam Schenck’s approach shot on the 16th during round one of The American Express tournament took an unusual turn when it bounced off spectator Brad Harmeyer’s chest and landed directly in his cranberry‑flavoured drink.
Rather than fuss over it, Harmeyer simply raised the cup to the crowd and even took another sip with the ball still floating inside.
Schenk walked over laughing, apologised, and told the fan he owed him a replacement drink before signing the ball as a keepsake. After taking free relief, he went on to make birdie from 10 feet, turning one of the strangest lies of the day into a scoring chance.
The moment quickly spread online, thanks mostly to the fan’s calm reaction and his decision to keep drinking as if nothing unusual had happened.
