Indian batting legend Sunil Gavaskar has shielded Virat Kohli from criticism after the latter got dismissed in the first innings of the 2nd Test between India and Australia. Lot of people questioned the adaptability of Kohli to the bouncy conditions. However, Sunil has stated that Kohli’s success in the previous long time span should not be questioned by a couple of failures.

After Kohli got dismissed for a score of 7 runs off 8 balls on Day 1 od 2nd Test against Australia, Gavaskar Drew the attention of everyone towards the splendid track records of Kohli, which he has secured. The Indian cricketing legend stated that the star batter has 30 centuries to his name and he surely knows how to bat.

The man has got more than 9000 Test runs batting with the same technique. He has got out twice, so what? He has 30 hundreds. He knows how to bat,” Gavaskar said

It is so that you can’t bring it down in time to let the ball harmlessly pass. But the man was not lucky in Perth or this time around. There is plenty of time left in this series,” he added.

Kohli had a chance to prove his prowess in the second innings, but it seemed like luck was not with him as he returned to the dressing room yet again with the score of just 11 runs off 21 balls as India was in lunch at 66/3 after 14.3 overs.
