After skipping February, following a busy winter, a new free Gran Turismo 7 update will arrive on Thursday, 12th March 2026.
Patch 1.68 includes three new cars and four new single-player race events, and as ever, this is an evolving article which we will update when the full changelog is available.
Three new cars
- Chevrolet Camaro 1969 Race-Mod – Brand Central – 672.59pp – 1,500,000 credits
- Mazda ɛ̃fini RX-7 Type R (FD) ’91 – Used Cars – 493.78pp – 80,000 credits
- Renault Captur S Edition TCe 140 ’21 – Brand Central – 373.48pp – 30,000 credits
The curio among this trio is undoubtedly the ‘race-modified’ 1969 Chevrolet Camaro. Reminding us, a little, of original Gran Turismo ‘RM’ options, but mixed with contemporary restomodding themes, this is a custom upgrade created by the Polyphony Digital development team.
This means a wide-body kit, centre-exit exhaust, stripped out interior and a supercharged V8 producing 657.8bhp.

On the opposite end of the scale is the prosaic Renault Captur – the compact SUV, the automotive equivalent of a microwave.
Mercifully, there is a second interesting vehicle in the form of the FD-generation Mazda RX-7. A similar model is already in the game, but this is the pre-facelift model.

If you’re wondering about the ’ɛ̃fini’ in the model name, that was a premium Japan-only sub-brand Mazda created in the 1990s. The ephemeral name briefly had the RX-7 as part of its lineup, alongside some saloons, and strangely, two Citroens (the Xantia and XM).
Of note, the latest Xiaomi Vision Gran Turismo concept is not part of this update.
Four new World Circuits events
To fit with the new cars, there will be the following four single-player races in the World Circuits areas. We’ll update this with further details upon the update’s release. There appears to be an absence of new photographic Scapes this time.
- European Sunday Cup 400 – Dragon Trail – Gardens Reverse
- Japanese Clubman Cup 550 – Kyoto Driving Park – Yamagiwa Reverse
- American Clubman Cup 700 – Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta
- World Touring Car 800 – Circuit Gilles-Villeneuve
Ferrari 296 GT3 steering angle fixed
We thought we’d never see the day, but for those who use the cockpit camera, this GT3 race car was borderline unusable. The steering wheel animation could only rotate 90 degrees either way, but now, this has been fixed.
10 new engine swap combinations
The following cars can now swap engines or have additional engine swap options:
- Abarth 500 ’09: K24A-Civic – 389bhp – 250,000 credits
- Mercedes-AMG C 63 S ’15: M158-AMG-Huayra – 5,980cc 730bhp – 775,000 credits
- Chevrolet Chevelle SS 454 Sport Coupe ’70: LS7-Rampage – 6,997cc 748bhp – 250,000 credits
- Daihatsu Copen Active Top ’02: 13B-REW-RX-7-Type-6 – 654x2cc 292bhp – 225,000 credits
- Dodge Super Bee ’70: Demon-Challenger – 6,166cc 840bhp – 200,000 credits
- FIAT 500 1.2 8V Lounge SS ’08: B18C-Integra-’98 – 1,797cc 198bhp – 137,500 credits
- GReddy Fugu Z: LS7-Rampage – 6,997cc 748bhp – 250,000 credits (new swap, alongside LZ20B-Skyline)
- Maserati Gran Turismo S ’08: Demon-Challenger – 6,166cc 840bhp – 200,000 credits
- Mazda ɛ̃fini RX-7 Type R (FD) ’91: R26B-797B – 654x4cc 690bhp – 1,750,000 credits
- Pontiac GTO ‘The Judge’ ’69: LS7-Rampage – 6,997cc 748bhp – 250,000 credits
Grand Valley – South Circuit Experience
Yet another Circuit Experience has been added – essentially a glorified time trial test, which pays out over 1,000,000 credits if you ace each sector and the full lap. Recently, these have been rolled out for alternative track layouts; this time, the shorter ‘South’ layout of the remimagined Grand Valley.
Mazda ɛ̃fini RX-7 Type R customisation
The new race-modified Camaro and the compact SUV Captur do have a range of subtle modifications available in GT Auto.
However, the Mazda ɛ̃fini RX-7 Type R has a wider range, from spoilerless to giant rear wing, and perhaps most interestingly, a completely different front facia which was a popular modification in period.
Camaro race modified time trial
To go alongside the update, there’s a new themed Online Time Trial (Lap Time Challenge). The fundamentals remain the same; there are 14 days to set your best time. Ending 26/03/2026 at 6:59 GMT, there is up to 2,000,000 credits to win.
Naturally, it uses the new race-modified Chevrolet Camaro, and is set around the High Speed Ring.
