Afghanistan and New Zealand were going to face each other in a one-off Test at the Shahid Vijay Pathik Sports Complex in Greater Noida.

The poor ground management by the authorities came to the light by this game, since the match was called off without a single ball being bowled.

All of this was due to the wet conditions of the ground amidst the continuous rainfall.

This match hence registered a shocking record, as it came out to be the first match of Test cricket in the 21st century to be called off.

The last Test match to be called off was the New Zealand vs India match in 1988. This is also the first Test match that has been called off without a ball being bowled in India.
