Green Bay Packers Set To Host 1,000-yard Wide Receiver For Top-30 Visit After Dontayvion Wicks Trade

Last Friday, the Green Bay Packers traded wide receiver Dontayvion Wicks to the Philadelphia Eagles. In return, they received a fifth-round pick in the 2026 NFL Draft and a sixth round pick next year. Additionally, Wicks received a one-year $12.5 million contract extension from the Eagles.

Trading Wicks opens up even more opportunities for wide receivers Matthew Golden and Savion Williams, who were both top-100 draft picks last year. Now, they join Christian Watson and Jayden Reed as the top-four pass catchers in that position room. (Skyy Moore was signed in free agency, but projects to be the team’s kick returner).

However, they are also the only two wide receivers under contract beyond the 2026 season. While the expectation is that Watson will receive another contract extension yet this off-season, the fact remains that Green Bay is suddenly short on wide receiver depth, both in 2026 and beyond.

The Green Bay Packers host Tennessee wide receiver Chris Brazzell for a top-30 visit

Tennessee wide receiver Chris Brazzell II (17) catches the ball in the end zone during a NCAA football game between Tennessee and Georgia at Neyland Stadium in Knoxville, Tennessee, on September 13, 2025.

According to NFL insider Ian Rapoport, the Packers are hosting Tennessee Volunteers wide receiver Chris Brazzell II for a top-30 visit this week:

As noted in the post above, Brazzell has already met with Carolina Panthers, Indianapolis Colts, and Arizona Cardinals. Additionally, he has visits scheduled with the Washington Commanders and San Francisco 49ers.

Last season, Brazzell had 62 receptions for 1,017 yards and an SEC-leading nine touchdowns. The six-foot-four 198 pass catcher spent the last two years at Tennessee after starting his college career at Tulane.

Many projections have Brazzell being a late second-round or early-third round pick in the 2026 NFL Draft. It is unclear if Green Bay will target a wide receiver this high, but they have surprised fans with their early round picks in recent seasons.
