The San Diego Gulls have signed center Roger McQueen, the 10th overall selection by Anaheim in the 2025 NHL Draft, to an amateur tryout contract.
McQueen, 19, was named the Hockey East conference’s rookie of the year this season after notching 11 goals and 16 assists in 36 games with Providence College. He previously spent three seasons with Brandon in the Western Hockey League, totaling 35 goals and 51 assists for 86 points in 127 contests.
A native of Saskatoon, Sask., McQueen helped Canada to gold medals at the 2024 IIHF U-18 World Championship and the 2024 Hlinka Gretzky Cup.
