Halliday set to become new WASA chief

St. Kitts-born Keithroy Halliday is set to become the new CEO of WASA, regional media network CANA is reporting. Halliday has served as the acting CEO of the Barbados Water Authority (BWA) for the past seven years and he has announced his resignation.

Before that, he served as General Manager since 2017.

According to the news report, “In a heartfelt memo to the staff, Halliday shared that the decision to leave the BWA was not made lightly but came after “considerable reflection” and a desire to “pursue a new opportunity” that aligns with his personal and professional aspirations.”

This past week, Minister of Public Utilities Marvin Gonzales said the country will have to wait a few more weeks before the new executive of WASA is announced.

In July, the Zimbabwean national who was hired to lead the authority as the chief executive officer died before taking office.

“We have identified a candidate, I’m not at liberty to divulge the name of the candidate, but luckily the person who ranked second, WASA engaged that candidate in discussions,” Gonzales said in an interview with Guardian Media this past week. (Trinidad Guardian)
