Hardik Pandya Becomes Emotional After T20 World Cup Win

The history was scripted once again after a long 11 years. 11 years of hard work, failures, tears, and incredible performances paid off. India lifted the T20 World Cup for the second time by defeating South Africa by 7 runs. The Barbados crowd has seen a completely thrilling match with some bowling brilliance. The last-over brilliance by Hardik Pandya will be cherished forever. After the incredible win, Hardik Pandya was all emotional and shared a heartfelt message. 

Pandya’s Last Over Brilliance and  Emotional Message:

India conquered the tournament from the first game till the final. They entered into the tournament with a strong lineup and executed all their plans. The final match between India and South Africa was a killing thriller. The match went to the last ball and the last over thriller from Hardik Pandya is all short of words. The two wickets in the last over snatched South Africa’s almost win game. 

After the win, Hardik was all emotional. The tears in his eyes reflected the emotion. After the match, he shared a message. He said, “It means a lot. Very emotional, we’ve been working very hard and something was not clicking. But today we got what the whole nation wanted. More special for me, how my last 6 months were, I haven’t spoken a word. I knew that if I kept working hard I could shine and do what I could do.”

Later he added, “Getting an opportunity like this makes it more special. We always believed it was just about executing our plans and staying calm and letting the pressure come to them.”

Praising Bumrah: 

In the whole tournament, Jasprit Bumrah shined the brightest. Since the day 1, he has been a crucial bowler for India. In the final over, his crucial four overs nailed the game. He conceded 18 runs and secured two wickets of Reeza Hendricks and Marco Jansen. Those two crucial dismissals on crucial points changed India’s perspective changed in the game. 

After the win, Hardik praised Bumrah saying, “Credit to Jassi and the other bowlers for those last 5 overs. Knew it would not help me if I wasn’t calm, wanted to commit 100% to every ball I’ve bowled. I’ve always enjoyed pressure.”

Rahul Dravid’s Emotional Farewell:

As a coach, Rahul Dravid witnessed his final match for Team India. Taking responsibility in 2021, the T20 World Cup win as his last assignment will be written in golden words. In the span of these three years, Team India witnessed many highs and lows but Dravid played his role significantly. But winning after a long wait of 11 years has turned out to be a perfect farewell for him. 

While talking about this, Pandya said, “Very happy for him, he’s been a wonderful man, really enjoyed working with him, to give him a farewell like this is wonderful, have had a very good relationship with him and became friends. Very happy for all the support staff.”
