Hardy Boyz React to AJ Styles Possibly Returning to TNA After WWE Retirement

Matt and Jeff Hardy are weighing in on the biggest “what if” in wrestling right now—AJ Styles returning to TNA.

After GUNTHER defeated Styles at the 2026 Royal Rumble in what was framed as his WWE retirement match, fans have been speculating non-stop about whether Styles is truly done with wrestling—or just done with WWE. Now, TNA’s World Tag Team Champions are adding fuel to the fire.

Speaking to Bill Apter, Matt Hardy pointed out that Styles was very specific in his wording:

“His exact terminology was, ‘If you do beat me GUNTHER, it will be the end of my WWE career.’ That was very specific.”

Matt says the door feels open—and he’s hoping TNA is where Styles walks through next.

“He has a genuine, very real authentic love for TNA, so I would love to have him back at TNA and he would really help us thrive as a company.”

Jeff Hardy took it a step further, fantasy booking a match fans didn’t know they needed:

“I feel like (Styles vs Mike Santana) is a dream match that kinda has to happen now. I heard Mike Santana talk about it in an interview and it just felt like, ‘Whoa, that would be amazing.’”

Then Jeff got reflective:

“AJ, when the world ends, if armageddon happens and all professional wrestling is over, AJ might be the ultimate GOAT, man.”

“He is just an incredible human being and has done an amazing job in his career. For him to come back to TNA would be incredible, and it would mean so much to all of us.”

Styles was the face of TNA in its prime—so a return would hit different.

Do you think AJ Styles is WWE-retired only? Would you want to see him back in a TNA ring? Drop your dream matches in the comments and let us know what you’d book first.
