“Look, their team is good—no doubt about that. They also know that India is one of the teams that can go really hard on them. I think that is a really positive sign,” Kaur said. “We know that whenever we are playing against them, we can beat them any day, any time.”
Kaur added that Australia is aware of India’s potential threat. “Winning the title for so many years, it’s a great opportunity for us. They know that we are a team that is really good. We just want to play good cricket and be in that frame where we are aware and keep talking about those things that will help us beat them,” she explained.

Harmanpreet further pointed out that India’s current squad is the strongest to have participated in the World Cup. With a blend of experienced campaigners and fresh talent, she believes this lineup has the right balance to compete at the highest level.
“If I talk about this team, we have a few players who have been playing for a longer time and know their roles really well. I’m quite confident with this team, and I can say that, yes, it’s the best team going into the World Cup,” Kaur noted.
The Indian team boasts a mix of veterans like Smriti Mandhana and Shafali Verma, as well as up-and-coming stars such as Richa Ghosh. The combination of youth and experience is expected to help India in critical moments during the tournament.
The Australian Challenge
Australia has been a dominant force in women’s cricket, winning five out of the last seven Women’s T20 World Cup tournaments, including the last three in a row. Their consistency, depth in squad, and ability to perform under pressure have made them a formidable opponent for any team.
