Harmanpreet Kaur Excited for Women’s Asia Cup Final Opponent

Another final bound for Team India. After having an exciting tournament in the Women’s Asia Cup, the India Women’s team made their entry into another final. They faced Bangladesh in the semifinal match and registered a massive win of 10 wickets. The entire lineup performed exceptionally well. After the remarkable win, Team India’s captain Harmanpreet Kaur hailed the team. 

After having an exciting tournament, India Women faced Bangladesh Women in the first semifinal. After winning the toss, Bangladesh opted to bat first. That decision turned out to be horrible for them. They struggled throughout the tournament. They lost their first three wickets within the first powerplay. 

Renuka Singh was on fire. She secured the first three wickets. Radha Yadav was another superstar of the day. She secured three wickets in 14 runs in 4 overs. Pooja Vastrakar and Deepti Sharma secured one each. They restricted Bangladesh to 80/8. 

In the second innings, Indian openers showcased the show. Shafali Verma and Smriti Mandhana batted outstandingly. Smriti scored another exciting half-century. She played an unbeaten knock of 55 runs in 39 balls. On the other hand, Shafali Verma remained unbeaten on 26 runs in 28 balls. They reached the target only in 11 overs. They registered a massive win of 10-wicket and qualified for the final match. 

Harmanpreet Kaur’s Words After Win:

India will play against the winner of the second semifinal between Sri Lanka and Pakistan. In the meantime, India’s captain, Harmanpreet Kaur, was asked about her preferred opponent for the Women’s Asia Cup 2024 final. Her response was full of excitement and anticipation.

She said, “[Pakistan or Sri Lanka?] Any team works, we will watch tonight and whoever is there, we’ll prepare well.”

The bowlers nailed the game. Harmanpreet said, “Our bowlers did a great job. Did what we spoke in the team meetings. Proud of our bowling. A lot of pressure on us, because we have been dominating Asian cricket. We want to keep doing what we are doing for a long time. We prepare ourselves very hard in nets, so that when we go out there, we don’t feel pressure.”

Later she added, “Everyday, the bowlers are coming up with positive approach. They are hitting the right lines and lengths, and they give me confidence. Consistency is important for us, we just want to keep doing well,” she said at the post-match presentation.”
