England captain Harry Kane tonight celebrated reaching 30 goals in the 2025-26 Bundesliga season and is well on course to being crowned the Bundesliga top scorer. The gripping contest ends with Bayern taking all three points against their title contenders Borussia Dortmund. Dortmund looked to have rescued a draw through Svensson’s stunning 84th-minute volley, only for Kimmich to produce a volley of his own and break their hearts. The final score: 3-2 to Vincent Kompany’s side, a result that stretches their advantage at the summit to 11 points.
Harry Kane was needed at his record-breaking best to drag Bayern Munich back into the contest after Nico Schlotterbeck powered a header past Manuel Neuer to give Dortmund a first-half advantage.
The goal carried more than a whiff of controversy, coming just moments after Schlotterbeck had been fortunate to stay on the pitch following a dangerous, studs-up lunge on Josip Stanisic.
Bayern wasted little time restoring parity after the interval, however, with Kane capping a slick, well-worked move to level the scores. The goal — his 45th of the season and 30th in the Bundesliga — came from twelve yards, coolly dispatched from the penalty spot.
Schlotterbeck’s evening as the match’s chief antagonist was far from over. A clumsy challenge on Stanisic inside the area handed Kane the chance to step up once more, and despite Gregor Kobel getting both hands to the ball, the spot-kick carried enough venom to find the net.
