“He has a good opportunity to…” Former Indian cricketer gives massive advice to Virat Kohli ahead of the T20 World Cup final

Former Indian cricket player Mohammad Kaif believes that Virat Kohli could become a hero similar to MS Dhoni. He compared Kohli to Dhoni’s performance during the 2011 ODI World Cup, noting that Dhoni performed exceptionally well when it was most crucial. Kaif anticipates Kohli to deliver a similarly heroic performance in the final of the 2024 T20 World Cup. India is set to play against South Africa in the final, which will take place at the Kensington Oval in Barbados on June 29, Saturday.

Can Virat Kohli play a knock like MS Dhoni in a World Cup final?

Kaif remembered how Dhoni scored an unbeaten 91 to win a game against Sri Lanka at the Wankhede Stadium and believes Kohli can do something just as impressive.

“Virat Kohli should keep in mind that even Dhoni didn’t perform exceptionally well in the 2011 World Cup, but he got into good form for the final. A little advice: He’s a very skilled player and doesn’t need to hit wildly. He can play according to the situation and take control of any bowling attack.” Kaif mentioned in a video shared on ‘X’.

Mahendra Singh Dhoni wasn’t performing well in the 2011 One Day International World Cup. However, he scored an impressive 91 runs without being dismissed in the championship game. His memorable six over long on off Kulasekara is still remembered by everyone. This is why I believe Virat Kohli has a good opportunity to become a hero.

Can Kohli put a masterclass against South Africa?

Kaif advised Kohli to think about his last game against South Africa where he scored his 49th one-day international century and feel good about that performance.

“He should not think that he is not playing well. He scored a hundred when India last played South Africa in the one-day international World Cup at Eden Gardens. He played really well that day, making good shots and not just hitting the ball hard.”

India hopes to win a big trophy after 11 years as they play against South Africa in the important final game.
