Rohit Sharma is undoubtedly one of the most distinguished cricketers in the nation but when it pertains to being a nice human being, the Indian captain ranks right there on the top. Not only have his fellow players but also the coaches been overt about Rohit’s personality. In fact, the youngsters in the team are already heralding their captain for his solicitous nature and now T Dilip, who is responsible for fielding, has accepted that Rohit is not only an exceptional leader but also godly at heart.
Speaking on Raw Talks with VK podcast available on YouTube, Dilip said it’s needless to comment on Rohit’s batting but as far as his nature is concerned there are very few good human beings like him.
“I don’t want to delve into his batting because he is popularly known as one of the best pullers of the ball. It is all there, but I have seen it from another angle through my own work … when I was with Deccan Chargers Rohit Sharma was playing much further away from me,” said Dilip while speaking in the podcast.
“Another thing worth mentioning is how he has managed to connect with each and every individual in this team. This is the thread that he has woven by speaking with them,” he continued.
Dilip also pointed out Rohit’s comical side when he recounted an incident which happened recently during their tour to Sri Lanka, when Indian captain hit on Washington Sundar just after losing his run-up for the second time in succession.
“This is an individual with a great sense of humor who lasts happy on the pitch. Moreover you may have seen Washington skipping two times and running… Thus he keeps on trying to create a nice ambiance in his arena as a commander.
“There are some hilarious occurrences associated with this but he is a wonderful person, one does not have to discuss about his leadership quality …There are world cups and IPL trophies before it. He’s among the best,” Dilip went on.
