‘He Is More Valuable Than A…

Indian cricketer Dinesh Karthik has called pacer Jasprit Bumrah more valuable than a Kohinoor Diamond, following the Player of the Tournament award which he earned for his brilliant performance in the T20 World Cup.

He finished the tournament with 15 wickets in 8 matches, but it was his economy which was even more shocking for a lot. After all, an economy of 4.17 after playing an entire tournament is definitely something to be praised.

When things were going the wrong way, Bumrah gave a special performance in the final. He was awarded the player of the tournament for his consistent performances throughout the whole T20 World Cup, helping the Indian team breakthrough whenever things were not going their way.

Bumrah was brought into attack in the 16th over of the final, when South Africa required a run per ball 30 runs in the last five overs. Though he could not get any wickets, he was extremely economical, not letting the opposition get any big hits.

“When I was on AIR, I said he is more valuable than a Kohinoor Diamond. Genuinely, he is the greatest all-format bowler at the moment in world cricket. Under pressure to come and keep performing time and time again, not many can do that,” Karthik said.

Karthik further added that Bumrah is a perfect asset for any skipper who can produce results in any condition.

“He’s a captain’s dream, someone who wins at any stage, any play of the game, that’s what makes him so special. Brilliant, fantabulous, that’s the word for him,” Karthik added.

India beat South Africa by seven runs in the finals at Bridgetown, Barbados, and won their second world title in T20 format. This was India’s second T20 World Cup win after 2007, and first since winning the Champions Trophy in 2013.
