1. 224 vs Sri Lanka, Cape Town, 2012

As South Africa lost Graeme Smith and Hashim Amla early, Kallis along with Alviro Petersen turned the tide around for the hosts. Both batters would go on to score centuries before Petersen would depart after scoring 107. Kallis however, would form another brilliant stand, this time with AB de Villiers and would score an incredible double-century to take the Proteas over the 400-run mark. An unbeaten 160 from de Villiers would see the hosts declare on a humongous total of 580/4.

2. 201* vs India, Centurion, 2010

After India got bowled out for only 136 runs in the first innings, the South African batting order went berserk against the visitors. First, both Smith and Petersen would slam fifties before Amla and Kallis would form an amazing partnership of 230 runs where both of them would go on to score centuries. Amla would depart for 140, however de Villiers came in next and he too smacked a century while Kallis remained unbeaten and scored his first-ever double-century. The hosts would declare on 620/4.

3. 189* vs Zimbabwe, Bulawayo, 2001

After Zimbabwe went on to post a massive total of 419/9 before declaring, the Proteas would also be given a strong start by the opening pair of Herschelle Gibbs and Gary Kirsten. After they got dismissed however, it was Kallis who carried South Africa over the 500-run mark with his amazing unbeaten knock. Neil Mckenzie would also play a great supporting knock of 88 as the visitors would declare on 519/8.

4. 186 vs New Zealand, Johannesburg, 2007

After getting bowled out for 226 in the first innings and then bundling out the Black Caps for just 118, the Proteas were powered by a spectacular 330-run stand by Kallis and Amla. Both the batters would score centuries and Kallis would go on to play one of the finest knocks of his career. While the all-rounder was finally dismissed by the Kiwis, Amla would remain unbeaten on 176 and this partnership would carry the Proteas to a massive total of 422/3 before they declared.

5. 182* vs England, London, 2012

After bowling out England for a decent total of 385, the South African batters would go on a rampage. First skipper Graeme Smith would play a fabulous knock of 131 before Amla and Kallis would again steal the show with an unbeaten stand of 377 runs. Amla would go on to play his career-best knock of 311* while Kallis would also play a magnificent innings to carry the Proteas to a mammoth total of 637/2.
